Judge Gilberto Andrés Medrano Bello, first substitute president of the Civil and Labor Chamber of the Court of Appeals of Barahona, stated that this judicial department has completely eradicated the judicial delay, so it currently has zero delays.
“We can show great achievements, some that began a few years ago, which have been consolidated over time and with perseverance, and others implemented during the course of the year that is ending, all aimed at achieving real access to justice,” said Medrado Bello when giving a speech on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Judiciary.
He highlighted that 73% of the courts nationwide are free of delays, which shows that people receive faster and more effective responses to their cases.
In this regard, the magistrate highlighted that the digital transformation implemented by the Judiciary has allowed judges and interested parties to manage cases in an agile and secure manner.
He noted that the digitalization of files and the expansion of the Digital Access Portal have improved transparency and access to justice, strengthening the connection with users and the efficiency of the processes.
He recalled that the efforts made since 2019 allowed significant progress in this matter, reducing judicial delays and improving the efficiency of the courts, as in the particular case of the Department of Barahona, "which, to date, is in “Zero Judicial Delay”.
He emphasized that judges and civil servants in that district work day and night to achieve their goals, as the idea is to continue working to keep the courts up to date and offer efficient services.
He concluded by saying that the vision of the Judiciary is to achieve accessible, timely and transparent justice that responds to and guarantees legal security and respect for human rights.
