The Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) and the Academy of Sciences of the Dominican Republic published the works “Labor Injunctions: Doctrine, Legislation, and Jurisprudence 1998-2021“ and ”Studies on Constitutional Labor Law," authored by Magistrate Manuel Ramón Herrera Carbuccia, First Deputy Chief Justice and judge of the Third Chamber of the high court.
The activity, which took place in the Judiciary Auditorium, was led by Magistrate Luis Henry Molina Peña, president of the Supreme Court of Justice and the Judiciary Council, and was attended by former SCJ presidents Jorge Subero Isa and Mariano Germán Mejía.
Carbucciahe acknowledged that constitutional jurisprudence has recomposed the employment contract, necessarily forcing it into a new vision of the social state. “These books have to do with the consolidation of the State, social rights, and the constitutional system,” Magistrate Carbuccia emphasized.
In that same order, Magistrate Luis Henry Molina described Judge Herrera Carbuccia as a most deserving jurist and a man dedicated to academic study and the practice of labor law, and added that the texts he is releasing are fundamental for enriching legal doctrine, contemporary labor law, the courts, and academia.
The first of the books was prefaced by the former presidents of the Supreme Court of Justice, magistrates Jorge Subero Isa and Mariano Germán Mejía; and the second by the former vice president of the Republic, Rafael Alburquerque; magistrate Milton Ray Guevara, president of the Constitutional Court; and constitutional jurist Eduardo Jorge Prats.
Dr. Subero Isa stated that the work on summary proceedings reflects the expansive nature verified through praetorian jurisprudence, applying the labor principles of the primacy of truth and the principles of social and constitutional philosophy.
Also part of the main table were the Minister of Labor, Miguel De Camps, and the president of the Academy of Sciences, Luis Scheker Ortiz.
Likewise, Supreme Court of Justice judges, members of the Council of the Judiciary, magistrates from various courts and High Courts, jurists, academics, lawyers, law students, and special guests were also present.
